Our Street - Elliott Drive - has come together over the last few years since one of our amazing families brought back the "block party"!  This allowed neighbors to get to know one another and build a stronger community on our street.   One of the benefits beyond community/friendship/safety/looking out for each other/helping each other and more is learning about our street and the Town of Munster.  We have many who have lived on our street for a very long time who share these little tidbits about how our street came to be as it is today.   We also have many who have given their time over many years to our community as well.  

When MEF announced their would be a block option there was no hesitation to submit our street!   We hand delivered flyers to every home on our street.  It was so fun talking to our neighbors, finding out how everyone is doing, listening to their stories and more!  Knowing your neighbors are excited to add a little magic this holiday season is just amazing.   We know not everyone is particpating for various reasons but we have homes decorated that were never previously decorated, we have blow ups, we have lights and wreaths and more.   Please see past the decoration and know that this means more than decor - it was about people, families and friends who just wanted to add a little hoilday cheer for each other, for our families and for our community.  Happy Holidays!

Families all throughout Northwest Indiana will have the opportunity to support the Munster Education Foundation by voting for their favorite decorated house.

About MEF: The Munster Education Foundation is dedicated to supporting innovative and/or experiential learning in the School Town of Munster through partnerships with educators, parents, businesses, and the greater community. MEF serves all five schools in Munster. This school year, MEF will award $120,000 in grants to educators with the support of community members.
